Dance Courses Salsa and Bachata Essentials|

This course is designed for those who have no experience, or who would like to revisit foundational values in dance. The focus will be on teaching you proper technique, speed, terminology, and musicality.

Bachata Essentials

BACHATA Essentials| Bachata is a Latin dance form that originated in the Dominican Republic. It incorporates more footwork and circular movement across the dance floor. The main focus in this class is to build a strong foundation in both footwork and partner-work, attain an authentic look and feel, develop and enhance leading and following techniques, and develop social dancing techniques and dance etiquette. You will also learn the history, origins, and culture of the dance. No prerequisite classes necessary.

Salsa
Essentials 1 & 2

Salsa Essentials 1 &2 | Understanding the movement, Style,  and rhythm of the On 2 Styling.  This class you will learn footwork terminology,  dills in timing, body isolations, and movement.  Students will come out of this class being able to recognize the On 2 typing and how to combine movement to the rhythm.

Salsa On 1 |  Understanding the movement, Style,  and rhythm of the On 1 Styling.  This class you will learn footwork terminology,  drills in timing, body isolations, and movement.  Students will come out of this class being able to recognize the On 1 typing and how to combine movement to the rhythm.

Afro-Latin Movement

Functioning as the fundamental practice in our dance program, Body Movement & Isolations provides a structured time to focus on the concepts of movement without the added burden of choreographed steps.

For dancers of all styles and levels, this training is organized as a system of exercises done in a follow the leader style with no verbal instruction. Starting with the head and moving down through the shoulders, ribcage, and hips, movement patterns are repeated to different styles of music to help develop rhythmical mobility in the entire body.

The exercises address both range of motion as well as fine motor control and culminate in an exciting dance through combining all the elements worked on during the technical portion. Isolations practice is especially useful for increasing and maintaining mobility in the joints and torso and can serve as a meditative and fun way to get more out of our bodies no matter your dance style.

All attendees must be fully vaccinated in order to participate in any class, lesson or event.

Masks & boosters are fully encouraged. Additional constraints can be added depending on the instructor’s preference.

Latin Dance Fitness
Zumba Fitness

Zumba® | Join the party, not the workout. Our fun and energetic dance fitness class will have you moving to the best cumbia, salsa, merengue, mambo, flamenco, chachacha, reggaeton, soca, samba, hip hop music, axé music, and tango. Burn the calories while having fun. For everybody and every body! Each class is designed to bring people together to sweat it on. We take the "work" out of workout by mixing low-intensity and high-intensity moves for an interval-style, calorie-burning dance fitness party. Once the Latin and world rhythms take over, you'll see why Zumba® fitness classes are often called exercise in disguise. Super effective, super fun––a total workout combining all elements of fitness: cardio, muscle conditioning, balance, flexibility, boosted energy, and a serious dose of awesome each time you leave class. No prerequisite classes necessary.
